This youth (ages 9-14yrs) course runs for 3x Saturday mornings from 10:00am - 12:00pm in Elkwater, AB
This multi week series is for youth ages 9-14 yrs who on comfortable on green and easy blue singletrack and are looking to tackle harder blue singletrack, and rolling over obstacles and roots. Each week will start with a short (~30-60min) skills session followed by a trail ride to practice our new skills. Youth should have the fitness to be able to climb Sorry to the top of the ski hill.
Youth must have a mountain bike in great working order: Must have gears, hand brakes, disc brakes and at a minimum front suspension. A properly fitted bike helmet and bike gloves are required.
Skills we’ll practice:
- Descending steeper terrain
- Braking
- Technical climbing
- Cornering
- Lifting your wheels over obstacles
Ratio: 6 riders per instructor
