This youth (ages 9-14yrs) course runs for 3x Saturday mornings from 10:00am - 12:00pm in Elkwater, AB
This multi week series is for youth (ages 9-14yrs) who are comfortable on blue singletrack trails and looking to take on some black runs. In this multi-week series we’ll give them the tools they need to ride with more speed, confidence and control. Each week will start with a short (~30-60min) skills session followed by a trail ride to practice our new skills. Youth must have the fitness to be able to climb Sorry to the top of the ski hill.
Youth must have a bike in great working order: Must have gears, hand brakes, disc brakes, at a minimum front suspension and be suitable for advanced terrain. A properly fitted bike helmet and bike gloves are required.
Skills we’ll practice:
- Advanced braking
- Balance & slow speed riding
- Rolling lunges
- Technical climbing
- Confident cornering
- Experimenting with airtime
